On Sunday October 11, Aunt Sharon got married in a lovely daytime outdoor wedding. The setting was beautiful. However, combine the unpredictability of a fall day with unseasonable cold temps and you get one frozen wedding party. The glow of the bride and the touching ceremony helped warm the guests - and lucky for us (unlike the bridal party) we wore coats!

After the ceremony, we moved indoors to enjoy a champagne brunch and dancing. Violet and Jack especially loved the dancing. This time the babies had to miss the fun. They are just so much work that Ron and I could not relax at all if they were with us. Luckily, Luke and Stacie offered to come to our house and take care of them. In order to help them keep Ben and Dashiell straight, I wrote down in their feeding log what each baby was wearing. Apparently in my haste and general disorganization, I confused the outfit to boy and ended up writing down the opposite.
So all day long Ben was Dashiell and Dashiell was Ben. When we returned home, Luke inquired as to their identities intimating that something was amiss. I poo poo'd him thinking he didn't know what he was talking about, but he planted a seed. I looked a little closer and sure enough he was right. All well that ends well, Ben is Ben again and Dash is Dash. This is the first of two switch ums we have had so far. To all concerned readers, we do have a failsafe. About 2 months after his birth Ben developed a small birthmark on his lower back.

Erin, you are the most awesome mom...the personally made "4" dress is perfect! I love that you made V's b-day so special with the unique attire!
